2007 Service to Senior Award Winners
Wally Buyer
2007 CSA Trailblazer Service to Seniors Award
He won this award for initiating and establishing four different bereavement groups ranging in lengths of time up to eight years. The seniors that Wally organized the groups for were searching for support and socialization after losing a loved one. He provided a safe, understanding environment for these seniors to deal with their loss.

Kevin Turkington
2007 CSA Community Citizen Service to Seniors Award
Kevin used his talents from working as the CEO of Senior Care of Alaska to help with the non-profit group, Older Persons Action Group. As President of the group Mr. Turkington facilitated numerous fund raisers and the creation of new services. One of the services he helped to create was a newspaper geared towards senior citizens, which went on to win state and national media awards.

Wade Emerson
2007 CSA Samaritan Service to Seniors Award
Wade felt that helping his local Alzheimer’s Alliance’s “Project Lifesaver Program” was something that he could contribute to. Mr. Emerson branched out of his comfort zone of working professionally in insurance and financial services to assist with this tracking program created for elderly clients who had a dangerous tendency to wander, mostly due to their battle with the Alzheimer disease.
Donation went to Alzheimer’s Alliance of Northeast Texas and its Project Lifesaver Program
2005 Service to Senior Awards Winners
Joe Holm
2005 CSA Trailblazer Service to Seniors Award
Joe conceived, created and implemented a project to take seniors fishing and boating called “Let’s Go Fishing” due to the availability of all of Minnesota’s lakes. In the first two years the project more than tripled in the number of seniors served. Joe has given Minnesota seniors something to look forward to and helped them get out and socialize with others.

Lynn Shank
2005 CSA Samaritan Service to Seniors Award
Lynn is very involved in the senior community, serving as the Secretary of Texas Silver Haired Legislature Foundation Board, which educates Texas state representatives on senior issues and provides free information programs to seniors and community agencies. Lynn has greatly helped seniors one-on-one with transportation, organizing bills, liaison with senior agencies.

Barry Glasgow
2005 CSA Community Citizen Service to Seniors Award
Barry serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Senior Services Associates, Inc., in Crystal Lake, Illinois. His association was instrumental in establishing a senior center in the area. Barry chaired the fundraising committee, served on finance and endowment committees, developed the agency website, and teaches computer classes at the senior center. His impact on seniors in the area is immeasurable due to all of the services he has helped to facilitate.
