Re-Testing
There are two re-test opportunities. Candidates must wait at least 6 weeks
in between test dates. To schedule a re-test, candidates should contact SCSA
at 1-800-653-1785. There is an additional fee of $95 for each re-test. Both
retests must be taken within 12 months from the date of the first exam session.
Candidates who fail the exam three times may retest again after a one-year waiting period (from the third exam attempt). Candidates must re-apply and meet the eligibility requirements in effect at the time of the retest following the waiting period.
Candidates who fail the exam the first time and do not take their retests within the required 12-month timeframe may purchase the CSA Exam Only option for an additional fee.
Pass/Fail Ratios
In 2007, the CSA exam was updated according to rigorous psychometric standards to apply for accreditation of the CSA credential by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. The updated exam was first administered on January 18, 2008. As of June 30, 2011:
