Re-Testing
There are two re-test opportunities. Candidates must wait at least 6 weeks in between test dates. To schedule
a re-test, candidates should contact SCSA at 1-800-653-1785. There is an additional fee of $85 for each re-test.
Candidates who fail the exam three times may retest again after a one-year waiting period (from the third exam
attempt). Candidates must re-apply and meet the eligibility requirements in effect at the time of the retest following
the waiting period.
Pass/Fail Ratios
In 2007, the CSA exam was updated according to rigorous psychometric standards to apply for accreditation of the CSA credential by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. The updated exam was first administered on January 18, 2008. As of March 31, 2010:
