*** Important Information ***
You are applying online for the Certified Senior Advisor Certification. If you are unable to make an online application you may submit a paper application by downloading the CSA Application for Certification. Certified Senior Advisors (CSAs) are professionals, who in the course of their practice, apply multi-disciplinary knowledge of the aging process and aging issues to identify the most appropriate options and solutions for seniors’ individual needs and best interests to improve their lives.
Participation in an education and/or training program is not a requirement for obtaining the CSA certification.
To qualify for the CSA certification, and to use the CSA designation, individuals must meet the following requirements:
For more information about the CSA Certification program please review the CSA Certification Handbook.
There is a $295 fee to take the CSA exam. The fee includes the exam and application. Once we receive your application and payment, we will process your application and email you instructions on how to schedule your exam.
If you have a disability covered by a national disabilities program (e.g. Americans with Disabilities Act), and you wish to request accommodation for a qualified disability, please email Robbin Corriveau at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once You Are Authorized to Schedule Your Exam:
You have up to 3 attempts to pass the exam prior to the exam expiration date. Keep in mind there is a 30 day waiting period, and a $115.00 retest fee, between retest attempts, so please schedule your exam accordingly. All exam attempts must be taken by the exam expiration date.
To increase the likelihood of receiving the first choice of date, time, and location, it is recommended that you schedule at least 45 days before your desired examination date. You can schedule your exam for any available appointment time prior to your expiration date. If you have not passed the CSA exam in that time period your authorization to test will have expired and you will be required to re-apply for CSA certification. Neither SCSA nor Pearson VUE is responsible if you do not schedule an appointment before your authorization expires.
Candidates who fail the examination three times may retest again after a 90 day waiting period (from the final examination attempt). Candidates must re-apply, pay all applicable fees and meet the eligibility requirements in effect at the time of the re-test following the waiting period.
