3 Year Recertification

CSAs are required to renew their certification every three years. This is different than the annual renewal requirements.

Every three years, CSAs are required to submit proof of the completion of 30 continuing education hours (CE), a completed application with accurate and updated information, payment, and pass a criminal background check to maintain the certification.

There are no exceptions to the recertification requirements, ALL CSAs must submit in order to maintain the certification. Any CSA that does not submit a completed application and payment before the recertification deadline will be suspended and have to pay additional fees in order to renew the certification.

A 30 day extension may be requested for the continuing education (CE) requirement only. If the requirement has not been met by the end of the 30 days, certification will be suspended and additional fees will  apply.

*Click here for more information about CSA accepted CE.

Once all the recertification requirements have been met a new certificate will be issued and the next three year recertification period will begin.
