Emily Sharpe is the founder and CEO of Bright Life, a tech startup helping families navigate the emotional and practical dynamics of the aging journey.  As a first-time entrepreneur, Emily builds on a career at the intersection of tech, law, public policy and social good.  She trained as a human rights lawyer, and has held legal and policy positions with NGOs, civil and human rights law practices, private companies and public bodies.  She worked at Facebook as a Privacy and Public Policy Manager in the US and Europe, engaging with complex policy challenges and stakeholders from across the globe. Her desire to make a positive impact on a larger scale brought her to the Web Foundation, where she worked to promote a free and open web for everyone as the Director of Public Policy. Emily completed her education at Cornell University and Georgetown University Law Center, and was awarded a Fulbright grant to research women’s political participation in the Middle East.
