Learn How the Best Placement Agencies Are Your Valued Partners

Many professionals still don't know how to work with a placement agency, or even how to assess the types of agencies that do exist. Attendees will learn what placement agencies really do, including the pitfalls related to trying to do placement on their own. They will learn how to find and to assess the best placement services to keep their clients safe and happy. Will touch on the trends in this evolving business as regards to consumer protection.

Placement agencies work for their clients to serve their best needs. But placement agencies also work for their partners who are the communities that provide care: independent living, assisted living, board and cares, memory care. There can be a natural ethical clash and I will explain how that comes about.

Placement agencies should know how to match the care needs with the providers - at the very least - but some are just list-producers, and others actually have experience and knowledge to know how to get the information about diagnoses and clinical needs. With that information they can educate clients about options for care, long term and short term - aid them in the process of building a plan for care that will work for them. Ethical agencies don't push the agenda of moving the loved one, if there's a possibility of remaining independent with support.

What do the placement agencies know about the care providers and how do they get that knowledge; touring, knowing the owners, knowing their licensing records. The more knowledge they have about the 'product', the more of an asset they are to the client. They can really problem solve. Placement agencies should be knowledgeable about the finances of senior housing, additional resources, and how to allow families and seniors to be financially responsible. Placement agencies address the individual person to satisfy needs for socialization and feeling that sense of dignity and individuality.

What is the difference between online agencies, small boutique agencies, and the combination services provided by fiduciaries or geriatric care management services. Know the aspects of each in order to choose the service that works best for you. With Q&A at the end, each attendee will be armed to decide how and when to use a placement agency and where to find the right one for their clients..

Learning Objectives

  1. What does a placement agency do exactly.
  2. Why are some agencies better than others.
  3. How to find agencies that will satisfy your client needs.
