CSA Conference Volunteer Opportunities

2018 CSA Conference

The 7th Annual Building Knowledge and Empowering Networks to Benefit Seniors CSA Conference will be in Atlanta, Georgia August 11-13, 2020.

In order to ensure the CSA Conference is valuable and relevant for CSAs and aging industry professionals, SCSA relies on the input and involvement of CSAs and professionals to guide the content and direction of the Building Knowledge and Empowering Networks to Benefit Seniors conference. If you are interested in serving on one of the volunteer organizing committees, please complete the online form at CSA Conference Volunteers.

  • Program Committee: The program committee is vital in the selection of speakers and formation of the content of the CSA Conference. The primary purpose of this committee is to spread the word about the open call for proposals to your networks and potential speakers, review and rate proposal submissions, and provide feedback on the quality and completeness of the overall content of the final program selection. Committee members will be responsible for the review and ratings of sessions within their desired sub-committee track (health/homecare, insurance/finance, social interest/lifestyle, legal/public policy). SCSA staff will coordinate all logistics and negotiations with conference speakers independently.
  • Sponsorship Committee: Part of the conference is supported by sponsorships from CSAs related industry partners. The primary purpose of this committee is to facilitate outreach to potential industry partners. Committee members will be responsible for sharing the Conference Prospectus with potential sponsor organizations, helping to make connections between decision makers and SCSA staff, and for highlighting the benefits of sponsorship to organizations. SCSA staff will coordinate all logistics and negotiations independently.
  • Marketing Committee: Promotion is essential to conference success. The marketing committee is primarily responsible for sharing approved marketing materials with their own networks and contacts and assisting SCSA with promotion of the conference to increase attendance through use of social media by liking, sharing, and retweeting content and by participating in word of mouth advertising. The Marketing Committee is also tasked with leading social media engagement during the conference by using provided hashtags to tweet, post, and share content across Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Service to Seniors Committee: In keeping with the tradition of honoring outstanding CSAs, this committee will solicit nominations for the Service to Seniors Award and make the final selection for the 2019 award winner. The Chair of the Committee will present the award to the winner onsite, with support from SCSA regarding speaking scripts and presentation slides. Committee members will work with SCSA staff in the development of the nominations criteria, organization of submissions, and selection process.
  • Ambassador Committee: Welcoming conference attendees, in particular first timers, sets the stage for a successful event. Ambassadors will be on the ground greeting conference attendees, assisting speakers, introducing speakers, and helping participants navigate the conference. SCSA staff will assist ambassadors by assigning them to select individuals and by providing on-site support.
  • Logistics Committee: Work by committee members will be primarily on-site, ensuring that speakers are set up with AV and ready to present. Committee members will also introduce speakers and help with registration during peak times. SCSA staff will support the logistics committee by providing onsite training for AV set up, providing session packets to introduce speakers, disseminate and collect session evaluations, and positioning session signs.
