Program: Nourish to Flourish: Nutrition for Longevity and Clarity
Presenter: Kristen Reed is a nurse educator and wellness advocate focused on practical, evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle strategies that support healthy aging, cognitive vitality, and whole-person wellness. Through her platform, Nursing Your Way

This engaging session explores how nutrition directly supports brain health, cognitive clarity, mood, and longevity. Our brains use up to 20% of the body’s total energy — and the foods we eat either fuel resilience and focus or contribute to inflammation and decline. This program connects the science of nutrition with practical, real-life application for the older adults and families we serve.

Session Highlights Include:
• Gut–brain communication and cognitive health
• Hydration and brain performance
• The role of inflammation in cognitive aging

Takeaways for Professionals:
• How to talk about nutrition confidently within scope — and when to refer to dietitians
• Understanding how food impacts mood, motivation, and memory during life transitions
• How to partner with wellness experts to support client longevity and clarity
Takeaways for Older Adults & Families:
• Key brain-protective nutrients (omega-3s, leafy greens, berries, and more)
• The importance of hydration and consistent meals for focus and memory
• Simple, brain-healthy recipes and meal planning tips for one or two people
