March Webinar
Adult Protective Services (APS): Roles, Responsibilities, and Collaboration
THIS FREE WEBINAR BEGINS
Thursday, March 19, 2026
12 – 1 PM MDT (2 – 3 PM EDT)
About this Webinar
APS programs protect adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Historically state-based and inconsistent, APS is now guided by the Administration for Community Living’s 2024 final rule—the first federal regulation setting nationwide standards. Key elements include person-directed values, common terminology, electronic reporting, tiered risk assessments, and mandated state plans with annual data reporting.
This webinar will cover APS roles, responsibilities, and how to collaborate effectively with APS. Topics include mandated reporter feedback, conflict-of-interest safeguards, interagency coordination, and intersections with federal regulations like the Older Americans Act and CMS Access Rule. We’ll also address funding challenges, advocacy strategies, and compliance with new mandates.
Join us to understand the evolution of APS policy, strengthen protective systems, and advance elder justice through practical, actionable steps.
